Mold Maker - Injection Molding Manufacturing - Base Salary to 37.00/hour - Elkhart, IN

• Our client, a custom plastics manufacturing company specializing in injection molding, tooling, and assembly, is seeking a Mold Maker to fabricate, build, fit, and assemble new injection molds within customer and industry specifications. While the position includes mold modification and repair, the primary focus is new mold construction and assembly for use on the production floor.
• This position operates within a full-service tool room and provides involvement throughout the mold-building process, from CAM and machining through final mold assembly and production use.

Responsibilities:

• Use CAM software and machining processes to fabricate injection mold components and build molds from start to finish
• Build, fit, and assemble new injection molds while meeting quality and production requirements
• Modify and repair existing injection molds and tooling as needed
• Set up and operate tool room equipment including CNC mills, EDM equipment, Wire EDM, drill presses, grinders, and saws
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and mold designs
• Machine, fit, and assemble mold components for new mold builds
• Prototype, machine, and fabricate fixtures both with and without prints
• Support mold troubleshooting, modification, and repair activities
• Mentor and coach mold-making apprentices

Qualifications:

• Journeyman certification required
• 5+ years of mold-making experience within injection molding manufacturing required
• Experience building and assembling new injection molds required
• Experience setting up and operating tool room equipment, including CNC mills, EDM, Wire EDM, drill presses, grinders, and saws required
• Experience using CAM software for mold manufacturing and machining required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings required

Compensation:

• Base Salary (paid hourly) in the 32.00 - 37.00/hour range
