Job Description

At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.

Why you should join

TE Connectivity is seeking a Mold Designer to join our Global Automotive business, with a strong focus on simulation-driven design for liquid silicone rubber (LSR) processes. In this role, you will go beyond traditional design by leveraging advanced simulation tools such as SigmaSoft, Moldflow, and Ansys to optimize tool performance from early development stages.

You will play a key role in improving product quality and manufacturing efficiency by integrating simulation insights into design decisions, contributing to innovative, data-driven engineering solutions aligned with TE’s strategic goals.

Your main tasks

  • Design and develop LSR tools, including demolding robots and related equipment, ensuring functionality and efficiency
  • Create accurate 3D models, drawings, and assembly layouts for tooling and mold sub-assemblies
  • Conduct and lead simulation analyses (SigmaSoft, Moldflow, Ansys) to validate and optimize tool and process performance
  • Analyze simulation results and translate them into design improvements and process optimizations
  • Manage and maintain CAD models, drawings, and revision history using PDMLink
  • Provide technical documentation and guidance to suppliers to ensure correct interpretation of construction drawings
  • Identify and resolve production and mold issues using simulation-driven root cause analysis
  • Support cross-functional activities such as PFMEA, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support tool debugging, validation, and industrialization until process release

Your ideal background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in tool design combined with simulation exposure (academic or professional)
  • Hands-on experience or strong exposure to simulation tools such as SigmaSoft, Moldflow, or Ansys
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD systems (CREO)
  • Basic understanding of injection molding processes; knowledge of LSR is a plus
  • Ability to interpret simulation results and apply them to improve design and manufacturing outcomes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a proactive and results-driven approach
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a multicultural environment
