Desired skills and expertise

  • Current student in an accredited bachelor’s program or master’s degree program in architecture, engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Some experience and proficiency in model shop fabrication techniques and tools, including table saw, laser cutter, bandsaw, and 3d printing.

  • Proficiency is preferred in 3d modeling software such as Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit.

  • Ability to work under the guidance of the senior model shop manager as well as various project teams throughout the office to execute high-quality architectural models.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.

  • Shop Maintenance: General cleaning + systematic organization, sorting supplies, managing inventory, and removing outdated materials, assisting with maneuvering and fabrication of oversized and heavy items.

  • Model Building Assistance with technical tasks, including sanding, assembly and file work.

  • Furniture Construction: Fulfilling pending furniture requests from the office.

  • This positions requires a minimum of 15 hours per week on-site in our office.

The hourly rate for this position is $24-$26.
