Model Making Internship – Amsterdam
As an international design firm, UNS is active across various fields of architecture and design. Our Amsterdam office is looking for model-making interns who want to participate as full team members, contributing to the creation of high-quality architectural models that support our design process.
What kind of tasks?
At UNS, physical models play a crucial role in visualizing and refining our designs. As a Model Making Intern, you will assist in:
Constructing architectural models at various scales using different materials and techniques
Experimenting with materials and fabrication methods
Supporting the design teams by translating concepts into physical representations
Assisting in 3D printing, laser cutting, and handcrafting detailed model components
What would be my impact as an intern?
As a Model Making Intern, your work will directly support the design process by turning ideas into precise physical models. These models help internal teams explore, refine, and communicate their concepts - which are often used in presentations to clients and collaborators.
By contributing to projects across different scales and typologies, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at how architecture is developed in a fast-paced, international design environment - and gain experience that's valuable for anyone interested in working at a high professional level in the field.
This internship offers you hands-on experience in professional model making within an international and collaborative environment.
Enrolled in a university (preferably Master Program) or higher technical school program for the entire duration of the internship
Experience in model making with a good sense of materials and craftsmanship
English fluency (spoken and written)
Rhino knowledge is a plus
Rendering software knowledge is a plus
Reliable, pro-active, and detail-oriented
Conditions on doing your internship at UNS:
You are enrolled at an educational institution for the whole duration of your internship.
In the case of non-EU citizenship, you must be registered as a student at a Dutch educational institution.
In case of EU citizenship, you may be registered at any educational institution.
Physical presence at the location of your internship. We believe that you learn most when you can work directly with your colleagues. It is therefore not possible to work completely remote and UNS does not facilitate housing for your internship.
