Job Title: Mobilization Tech - Senior
Department: 6800

Schedule: Day/Evening

This role will collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to identify high priority patients in need of ambulation and mobility. The Mobilization Tech – Senior will provide support to the interdisciplinary team (Nurses, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists) and assists the Nurse, Patient Care Tech, or Therapist who is providing mobility services to patients. The Mobilization Tech – Senior is responsible for the identification and intervention of turning and positioning for each individual patient in need while maintaining superior customer service. This role is responsible for verifying activity orders, assisting with tasks necessary for the management team, organizing the patient care unit, and being flexible to meet patient and/or unit needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to appropriately transfer patients using trained techniques and safe patient handling equipment.

  • Mobilizes each identified patient including reinforcement of use of assistive devices used at baseline or recommended by the interdisciplinary team; such as ambulation, moving bed to chair, standing at bedside, and performing range of motion or other simple exercises as directed.

  • Aid patients in therapeutic regimen.

  • Assists patients with self-care only as an adjunct to functional mobility. This may include positioning, toileting, and/or peri-care.

  • Assists the interdisciplinary team in training medical and nursing personnel in mobility techniques and objectives.

  • Documents as directed within the Care Connect electronic medical record.

  • Communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team including Medical Providers, and others indicated, regarding patient’s response to mobility plan.

  • Reinforces education to the patient and family regarding the efficacy and rationale for mobilization.

  • Understand normal vital sign parameters.

  • Maintains inventory, storage, and cleanliness of equipment and unit area.

  • Assists other staff members with patient transfers, toileting, and equipment retrieval/adjustments.

  • Provides support to Patient Care Techs for tasks including, but not limited to, scheduling of patients for mobilization, patient care deployment, troubleshooting and education for complex patient mobilizations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the unit Nurse Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One (1) year of direct patient care experience in a healthcare facility.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mobilization Tech, or Patient Care Tech strongly preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
