Mission of Role/Position Summary:
The Safety Associate/Driver supports the safe, respectful, and orderly operation of Mobile Cooling Services during extreme heat events. This position is responsible for safely driving and parking a mobile cooling vehicle, transporting team members to service locations, assisting with route coordination and dispatch activities, monitoring safety conditions, de-escalating conflicts, escalating safety concerns when appropriate, and supporting supply management and logistics.
The Safety Officer/Driver serves as a key member of the mobile response team, helping ensure that older adults, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations have safe access to cooling resources and services. This position is not law enforcement and does not provide armed security services. The role focuses on transportation safety, client and staff well-being, operational support, incident response, and coordination with leadership and emergency services when necessary.
