Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Mobile Platform Technical Lead based in Canada.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on building and evolving reliable mobile delivery platforms in a highly regulated healthcare technology environment. You will shape the roadmap for mobile CI/CD, automation, release engineering, and developer experience across Android and iOS applications. The role combines technical ownership with mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and practical engineering. You will strengthen the full mobile delivery lifecycle, from automated builds and testing through signing and app-store deployment. You’ll work closely with engineering, QA, security, and product teams to solve complex delivery challenges. As the platform matures, you’ll also have opportunities to contribute your broader mobile engineering expertise and influence engineering practices at scale.
Accountabilities:
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for the mobile delivery roadmap, setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, and removing delivery blockers.
- Design, build, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines supporting mobile builds, automated testing, signing, and release processes for Android and/or iOS.
- Own and automate the end-to-end mobile release lifecycle, including application versioning, certificates, provisioning profiles, keystores, secrets management, and deployment through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Troubleshoot complex build, signing, pipeline, and app-store deployment issues while improving platform reliability, security, monitoring, performance, and developer experience.
- Establish scalable mobile delivery practices and engineering standards that enable teams to ship software consistently, efficiently, and securely.
- Collaborate closely with Mobile Engineering, QA, Security, and Product teams to align delivery capabilities with business and technical priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, tooling, release processes, and developer workflows as the mobile platform evolves.
- Contribute hands-on mobile engineering expertise beyond delivery infrastructure where it can strengthen the broader platform and application ecosystem.
- Drive technical initiatives from concept through implementation, balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term maintainability and scalability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience across mobile software development, Mobile DevOps, build engineering, release engineering, or closely related areas.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience shipping Android and/or iOS applications to production through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
- Strong practical understanding of the mobile release lifecycle, including build automation, testing, signing, provisioning, versioning, and store deployment.
- Experience designing and managing mobile CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Fastlane, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Codemagic, CircleCI, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of mobile signing and release requirements, including certificates, provisioning profiles, keystores, secrets, and secure deployment practices.
- Proficiency in software development or scripting using technologies such as Swift, Kotlin, Bash, Python, or comparable languages, with an interest in automation and developer tooling.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives while remaining hands-on, troubleshoot complex problems, mentor engineers, and drive initiatives through to completion.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, QA, security, product, and other technical teams.
- A structured, problem-solving mindset with a focus on reliability, automation, scalability, security, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, cloud-native platforms, C#/.NET MAUI, LaunchDarkly, or AI-assisted developer tooling is considered an advantage.
Benefits:
- Competitive compensation.
- Paid time off and company holidays.
- Opportunities for professional learning, technical development, and career growth.
- The opportunity to work remotely from Canada.
- Exposure to innovative technology supporting clinical trials, healthcare, and medical decision-making.
- A collaborative, cross-functional environment where technical contributions can directly influence engineering practices and product delivery.
- The opportunity to work on globally deployed mobile platforms within a highly regulated technology environment.
- An inclusive workplace committed to diversity, equal opportunity, and professional growth.
