Essential Requirements

• EU/UK citizenship or existing right to work in Ireland (mandatory)
• Recognised trade qualification in Forklift Mechanics, Construction Plant Fitting, or Agricultural Mechanics (or equivalent)
• Proven experience maintaining, servicing, or repairing forklifts, plant machinery, or heavy-duty construction/agricultural equipment

As a Mobile Forklift Mechanic, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality service and repair work directly at customer sites. This role involves diagnosing faults, carrying out preventative maintenance, and ensuring forklifts and material-handling equipment are operating safely and efficiently.

This position suits a hands-on, solutions-driven technician who enjoys independent field work, takes pride in their work, and values strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend customer sites to diagnose, service, and repair forklifts and plant equipment
• Carry out routine preventative maintenance and safety inspections
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems efficiently
• Maintain accurate service records and complete all job documentation on time
• Liaise with service coordinators and managers to ensure smooth job scheduling
• Uphold strict safety and compliance standards at all times
• Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients on-site

Qualifications

• Recognised trade qualification in Forklift Mechanics, Construction Plant Fitting, or Agricultural Mechanics (or equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical repair of forklifts, plant, or agricultural machinery
• Good understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Computer literacy for service documentation and diagnostics
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across service routes
