£30,231 + £525 per additional skill (up to 6, maximum base salary of £33,381)
39 hours | 08:00–17:00 | 1 in 4 weekends (+15% allowance)

Solid, long-term work across multiple sites

We’re looking for a Mobile Building Engineer to cover prison sites across the North East, based out of HMP Durham

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be out on the road, working across around 6 sites, keeping buildings safe, compliant and running properly.

What you’ll be doing

• Planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites
• General building maintenance + compliance checks
• Supporting critical systems (fire, water, electrical basics)
• Following site safety and security procedures
• Taking part in on-call + weekend rota
• Acting as Authorised Person (AP) (training provided)

What you’ll need

• Full UK driving licence
• NVQ / trade qualification (or solid experience)
• Able to work on your own and manage your workload
• Basic understanding of compliance and safety

Experience in any of these is advantageous:

• Fire doors / extinguishers / alarms
• Emergency lighting
• RCD testing
• Water temp checks
