What role you will play in our team

As Mobil Lubes Analyses Advisor , you will apply your technical expertise, problem-solving capabilities, and emerging leadership skills to develop and deliver differentiated technology solutions that meet business objectives and customer performance requirements. You will play a critical role in translating business needs into practical technical solutions, collaborating with stakeholders to drive value across products, services, and solutions beyond the molecule.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and delivering differentiated technology solutions that achieve defined business objectives and customer performance targets through the application of advanced technical expertise and innovative problem-solving.
  • Translating business and customer requirements into effective technical approaches and collaborating with business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery across finished fluids, services, and integrated solutions.
  • Executing complex technical work and driving projects to achieve established objectives, timelines, and performance outcomes.
  • Developing and maintaining deep expertise in core technology fundamentals within assigned areas of responsibility and leveraging this knowledge to support effective project execution, continuous improvement, and technology advancement.
  • Applying analytical thinking and technical judgment to solve challenging problems and identify opportunities for innovation and enhanced customer value.

You will work closely with a broad network of internal and external partners, building strong collaborative relationships and communicating technical concepts effectively. This role offers an opportunity to strengthen your leadership capabilities and begin the transition from an individual contributor to a recognized technical leader, influencing technology strategy, project outcomes, and business success.

What will you do

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for the Mobil Lubes Analysis offering, supporting internal and external customer inquiries and ensuring delivery of high-quality diagnostic and analytical services.
  • Manage and support Mobil Lab Analysis systems and infrastructure, ensuring operational excellence, data integrity, and efficient service delivery through internal and third-party laboratory networks.
  • Coordinate validation of used oil analysis testing programs, including endorsement of test methods, verification of laboratory operations, and assessment of testing accuracy, precision, and reliability across third-party laboratories.
  • Develop, execute, and oversee test plans; analyze and interpret results to define optimal technical solutions and ensure technical readiness for deployment and service enhancement.
  • Drive the advancement of laboratory data analytics and digital tools to unlock actionable insights, improve customer value, and support data-driven decision making.
  • Lead technical coordination across Technology, Marketing, Sales, EMIT, Global Product Integrity, external service providers, distributors, OEMs, and suppliers to support new service technologies, capability enhancements, and strategic investments.
  • Establish and maintain laboratory service standards and quality processes, ensuring consistent execution, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across global and third-party service providers.
  • Support third-party laboratories by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting testing issues, and ensuring the reliability and validity of analytical results.
  • Research, assess, and communicate industry trends, emerging technologies, standards, customer requirements, and competitive activities to identify opportunities and provide actionable market insights.
  • Lead technology development and deployment activities from opportunity identification and project definition through commercialization, implementation, and lifecycle support.
  • Review technical data, formulate recommendations, and determine solution readiness while considering performance, customer requirements, cost competitiveness, and overall business value.
  • Support technical contributions to business planning and prioritization processes, ensuring alignment between technology initiatives and strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customers, OEMs, suppliers, and industry stakeholders, serving as a trusted technical advisor and advocate for customer success.
  • Continuously develop expertise in lubricant technology, formulation fundamentals, condition monitoring, and related applications, applying technical knowledge to solve complex customer and business challenges.
  • Leverage internal and external resources effectively to deliver efficient, high-quality solutions while driving collaboration across the Lubricants Value Chain (LVC) technical community.
  • Provide regular project updates, communicate risks and changes proactively, and ensure alignment of deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Participate in relevant industry associations, committees, and external technical forums to strengthen industry engagement, monitor emerging developments, and support organizational objectives.
  • Actively comply with and promote internal processes, governance requirements, quality standards, and management systems to ensure safe, effective, and consistent execution of work

About You: Skills and qualifications

  • Academic Qualification: Degree in Science or Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Language Skills: Fully proficient in English, both written and spoken. German language skills are considered an advantage.
  • Work Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in lubricant testing, preferably in used oil analysis, condition monitoring, lubricant performance evaluation, or assessment of lubricant suitability in industrial and automotive applications.
  • Technical and Professional Skills: Strong project management capabilities with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and drive initiatives to successful completion. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data, evaluate testing results, and develop practical recommendations. Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical, commercial, laboratory, and customer-facing functions.
  • Personal Attributes: A solution-oriented mindset with the ability to critically assess alternative approaches and identify the most effective path forward. Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently while maintaining a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and customer value.
