We are seeking a detail-oriented MMC Operator to operate and maintain a cap lining machine in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires mechanical aptitude, ability to read and understand workorders, ability to identify of tooling and proficiency in machine setups upon completion of training. The ideal candidate will be highly technical, experience with mechanical equipment and hand tools such as Allen wrenches and be able to understand and follow technical documents while ensuring the quality of finished goods.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Adhere to all safety rules, report all safety issues, and maintain good safe work habits
• Identify quality issues and ensure the accuracy and quality of the finished goods
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to housekeeping standards
• Understand work orders, including order quantity and raw materials and finished goods
• Setup machine for new orders, including mechanical tooling, punch and die selection and alignment, automated mechatronics, setup of optical sensors, vision system, etc.
• Utilize HMI (human-machine interface) programs to control and monitor machine function and parameters
• Verify raw materials and machine setup match work orders
• Raw material handling such as loading/unloading caps, liners and staged materials throughout production
• Make mechanical adjustments throughout production as needed
• Utilize shop floor PC to load job orders and record downtime as it happens, ensuring accurate production tracking
• Communicate issues to relevant teams to minimize disruptions
• Maintain detailed logs to support efficiency improvements and troubleshooting
• Palletize and label finished goods
QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-speed production environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with mechanical equipment and hand tools, including Allen wrenches
• Ability to read, understand, and follow technical documents, work orders, and specifications
• Basic computer skills, including use of HMIs and shop floor PCs (or ability to learn upon training)
• Strong communication skills and ability to report issues accurately and timely
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to stand for the entire shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
• Ability to perform repetitive motions related to machine operation and material handling
• Ability to work on a manufacturing floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise
