The Division Business Support Manager (DSBM) will have a broad range of responsibilities to support the division leadership team. He/she will work closely with the Division COO to help lead major projects, program or processes with significant business impact. This will include helping to drive strategic business initiatives, the division financial and operating plans and the day-to-day running of the division and market related initiatives. The position requires the individual to build, collaborate and maintain relationships with the market leadership team and work closely with partners across MLWM and GWIM. The DBSM will report jointly to the Division Executive and COO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage initiatives and projects to drive the division’s short and long term revenue growth, cost-efficiency, and profitability, as well as client experience and advisor productivity
  • Plan, organize and coordinate office operations, assess processes and procedures; recommend improvements for greater efficiency and productivity
  • Influence strategic direction and develop tactical plans in partnership with the division leadership team
  • Conduct analysis and assist in identifying trends and opportunities to grow business, manage expenses, and improve operating models
  • Provide division leadership with timely and appropriate status/progress reports and key metrics relevant to business initiatives
  • Coordinate leadership meeting preparation, agendas, presentations and follow-through
  • Identify critical dependencies for successful implementation of key initiatives
  • Partner with the division leadership team to ensure the proper risk disciplines are in place
  • Carry out all regular assigned tasks as well as ad hoc analysis and support to address needs in areas such as HR, real estate, product/platform, legal, recruiting and audit/control areas with appropriate partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years financial industry experience
  • Understands the MLWM strategy, wealth management business and relevant products, services, and regulations
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills and financial acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and relationship building skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage complexity and deliver solutions on tight deadlines
  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle a variety of tasks and initiatives independently
  • Strong organization and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and take a proactive approach to job responsibilities
  • Proactive team player, cooperative and willing to help in any situation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Well-developed business judgment and experience
  • Ability to partner effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Marketing)
  • Strong desire to excel and execute in a dynamic environment
