We are seeking an experienced and strategic weekend shift Mixing Team Member who wants to grow within Tarkett. In this position you will have the opportunity to operate various production equipment and perform multiple functions within the Mixing Department to meet our customers’ quality, color, and consistency specifications. Weekend shift employees would be on a 36-hour work schedule but will get paid for 40 hours. The shift schedule will be 10:48pm to 11am. There will not be forced overtime for the weekend shift but will however have volunteer opportunities available to do so.
ESSESNTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES · Review 5s checklist with previous operator · Communicate with previous operator about possible problems or special instructions · Set up/operate mixing equipment to produce material to our customers’ specifications · Produce/prep the correct amount of raw material to fill workload · Follow instructions on the computer schedule, ensuring all material is labeled/coded correctly · Monitor equipment: Computer control system, scales, loaders, mills, vacuum hoist, K6A to ensure production process is in working order · Operate variety of production equipment as business needs require · Inspect material for defects, inconsistencies · Identify sources of contamination, and removing contamination as required · Ensure all batch tickets correspond correctly with order specifications · Complete required documentation/paperwork as required · Complete downtime sheets · Pickup and sweep in front, between, and behind presses · Maintain/continue green sustainability initiatives
REQUIREMENTS · Ability to comply with existing safety standards · Knowledge of, and ability to differentiate colors · Ability to become tow-motor certified · Proven problem solving skills · Strong team player with a drive for results and accountability · Strong organizational skills and maintain a well-kept work area · Ability to work in a fast paced environment with frequent distractions and interruptions along with multiple demands from other associates, managers and customers, which may lead to miscellaneous other duties.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS · Perform work within the Mixing department based on business needs. This includes performing duties on presses and equipment · Ability to reach, bend, lift, and push objects weighing up to 50 lbs. on a continuous basis for the duration of the shift. · Standing: Constantly (greater than 80% of workday) · Walking: Constantly (greater than 80% of workday) · Bending and Twisting: Constantly (greater than 80% of workday) · Temperature Extremes (percent of time working in non-climate controlled, production environment): Constantly (greater than 80% of workday) · Noise (percent of time working in loud, production environment): Constantly (greater than 80% of workday)
