Mitigation Manager (Production & Field Operations) Location: Paul Davis Restoration of Downriver Detroit

Reports To: Owner

Type: Full-Time | Field-Based | On-Call Required “Own the day. Own the standard. Own the outcome.” Primary Objective

Own the execution, flow, and completion of all mitigation jobs. This role is responsible for:

  • Getting crews moving quickly
  • Ensuring jobs are done correctly
  • Making sure documentation is complete and accurate
  • Eliminating delays, mistakes, and return trips

You are not here to assist.

You are here to ensure that every job is executed, documented, and finished professionally—without the owner needing to step in.

What This Role Actually Owns

You are responsible for making sure:

  • No one is sitting idle waiting for direction
  • No job is left incomplete or undocumented
  • No homeowner is inconvenienced by avoidable mistakes
  • No job requires unnecessary return trips

If those things are happening, you own fixing them.

Key Performance Metrics (How You Will Be Measured)
This role is accountable for two primary outcomes:
1. Job Cycle Time

  • Jobs are started quickly and move efficiently
  • Delays are identified and addressed immediately
  • No unnecessary downtime, idle crews, or stalled jobs

2. Customer Satisfaction

  • Jobs are completed fully and correctly the first time
  • No avoidable return trips or missed steps
  • Clear communication and a smooth customer experience

This role exists to reduce job cycle time and improve customer experience through strong execution, clear communication, and complete job closeout.

Core Responsibilities

Daily Job Coordination & Dispatch

  • Own daily scheduling and technician assignments
  • Ensure crews are dispatched quickly—no idle time at the warehouse
  • Set clear daily priorities across all active jobs
  • Monitor progress throughout the day and adjust as needed
  • Maintain urgency and accountability across the team

Job Execution & Production Oversight

  • Oversee all mitigation jobs (water, fire, mold, storm)
  • Ensure proper execution of drying, demolition, containment, and safety practices
  • Step in when jobs fall behind or standards are not met
  • Support the team in the field when needed

Job Closeout & Documentation Enforcement

  • Ensure all jobs are fully completed before being considered “done”
  • Enforce completion of:
    • MICA / job logs
    • Photos
    • Notes
    • Syncing and uploads
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Eliminate the need for leadership to chase updates or missing information

If it’s not documented and synced, it’s not done.

Quality Control & Standards

  • Ensure all work meets IICRC standards, insurance compliance, agreed upon scope, and company expectations
  • Verify equipment placement, drying progress, and job setup
  • Identify and correct mistakes immediately
  • Prevent callbacks and return trips through proper execution

Estimating Support (Mitigation)

  • Build or assist with rough mitigation estimates for bids and time-sensitive jobs
  • Gather accurate field data (measurements, photos, notes)
  • Support and/or initiate estimate requests using Xactimate, FAST, or Docusketch workflows
  • Evaluate/review 3rd party estimates to ensure that scope of estimate matches field work
  • Escalate complex or unclear scopes before moving forward

Reconstruction Coordination

  • Identify when mitigation is complete and reconstruction is required
  • Recognize early indicators that reconstruction involvement is needed
  • Initiate communication with the Reconstruction Project Manager
  • Ensure jobs are fully prepared for handoff with clear documentation and scope

No job leaves mitigation without a clear next step.

Team Leadership & Accountability

  • Lead technicians with clear expectations and consistent standards
  • Address performance issues directly and immediately
  • Reinforce urgency, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Set the tone for how work gets done every day

What Success Looks Like (60–90 Days)

  • Crews move without being told what to do
  • Jobs start faster and stay on track
  • No missed documentation or syncing issues
  • Significant reduction in return trips
  • Homeowners experience a smooth, professional process
  • Owner is no longer chasing updates or directing daily activity

What We’re Looking For

This is not a passive role.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Takes ownership without waiting for direction
  • Moves quickly and expects the same from others
  • Pays attention to details others miss
  • Holds people accountable without hesitation
  • Can lead a team while still working in the field

Qualifications

  • Strong mitigation/restoration experience (water, fire, mold, storm)
  • Experience leading crews or managing field operations
  • Familiarity with documentation systems (MICA, DASH, Xactimate, or similar)
  • Ability to build or support mitigation estimates
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles
  • IICRC certifications preferred (WRT, ASD, FSRT)

Compensation

  • Base salary with performance-based incentives
  • Compensation aligned with experience and ability to take ownership of operations
  • Clear opportunity for growth as the company scales

Our Standard

  • Deliver what you promise
  • Respect the individual
  • Have pride in what you do
  • Practice continuous improvement

Final Note

This role is for someone who wants to take control of operations, not wait to be told what to do.

If you’re looking for a position where you can:

  • Lead
  • Take ownership
  • Build something the right way

This is that opportunity.

If you need constant direction or prefer to stay in a purely technical role, this will not be a fit.

Compensation: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
