About the role

As a Mission Leader, this is your opportunity to lead a vibrant Salvation Army faith community, sharing the message of Jesus Christ while inspiring spiritual growth, discipleship, and holistic transformation across Nambucca River and surrounding communities.

Reporting to the Area Officer this is a permanent, part-time role offering 30.4 hours a week located in Numbucca, NSW

How you will make an impact

  • Provide spiritual leadership by preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and fostering a vibrant worship and discipleship culture.
  • Lead and develop volunteers, local leaders, and ministry teams, encouraging people to serve according to their gifts and grow in their faith journey.
  • Build strong community connections and partnerships, representing The Salvation Army and creating pathways for people to engage with faith and mission.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of Corps programs, events, outreach initiatives, and the local mission plan.
  • Ensure effective governance, compliance, and safeguarding practices, creating a safe and supportive environment for children, vulnerable people, staff, and volunteers.
  • Manage Corps operations, including administration, finances, fundraising activities, property oversight, and team leadership.

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated spiritual and organisational leadership, with a strong Christian faith, pastoral capability, and the ability to disciple, support, and encourage individuals in their journey with Jesus.
  • Self-motivated and demonstrates a high level of initiative
  • Sound communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact positively with a variety of people.
  • Tertiary qualifications [minimum diploma level] in Mission, Theology, teaching, psychology, social work, youth work or community services, or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge, and skill.
  • Well-developed team-building capacity.
  • A mandatory requirement of this role is to be a Soldier and commit to the Soldiers Covenant prior to entering an employment contract.
  • A national police record check is required.
  • A valid NSW Working With Children Check
  • Compulsory training modules are completed and up to date.
  • Driver licence

About The Royal Children's Hospital

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.

In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
