We are Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), an organisation that uses light aircraft to deliver help, hope, and practical love in more than 30 developing nations. For nearly 80 years, weâve been flying patients, aid workers, relief supplies, and medical essentials into places where roads disappear and runways are carved from mountainsides. In these regions, aviation isnât convenience. Itâs survival.
Since 1951, MAF aircraft have traced lifelines across the rugged peaks and deep valleys of Papua New Guinea. Through unpredictable weather and dramatic terrain, our flights connect remote communities to health-care, education, clean water, disaster relief, and the Gospel.
Behind every takeoff is a commitment to international safety standards, operational excellence, and faithful service. Every landing tells a story of compassion in action. This is aviation with purpose. This is impact measured in lives changed.
Curious about life on the mission field? Wondering whether God might be calling you to serve cross-culturally? This âgapâ may become one of the most formative seasons of your life!

Mission Aviation Fellowship was founded in 1945 by a group of WWII pilots who had a vision for how aviation could be used to help spread the Gospel.
Since those early days, we have been an indispensable partner and servant to some 500 Christian organizations, humanitarian agencies, and more. We enable and maximize evangelism and church nurturing, medical assistance, disaster response, and community development, as well as the training and development of indigenous people.
Using aviation, we desire to see isolated people changed by the love of Christ by serving together to bring help, hope, and healing. We meet the physical and spiritual needs of isolated people in 42 countries throughout Asia, Africa, Eurasia and Latin America, operating a fleet of 47 light aircraft. Dedicated missionary families raise their own ministry support to serve as the hands and feet of Christ to those in need.
