Every physician's career is different. We think that's a strength.
At the Minto-Mapleton Family Health Organization, we're building a physician team that reflects the evolving landscape of family medicine. We know that no two physicians practise exactly alike, and we believe the strongest rural healthcare teams are built by bringing together physicians with complementary interests, strengths and experience.
Whether you're an experienced physician or just beginning your career, we'd love to explore how your goals align with our community's needs.
Our shared commitment is simple: deliver exceptional patient-centred family medicine while contributing meaningfully to the health of our community.
Your Practice. Your Strengths. Our Community.
Every physician joining our team will build on a strong foundation of:
Beyond primary care, physicians have the opportunity to shape a practice that reflects their interests, skills, and stage of career. Opportunities may include:
The Minto-Mapleton Family Health Organization consists of nine physicians providing comprehensive office-based care, inpatient medicine, and a broad range of hospital services. Many physicians also participate in Emergency Medicine, Long-Term Care, and Obstetrics, creating a collegial environment where physicians support one another while developing practices that align with their individual strengths.
Emergency Department shifts are 24 hours and may also be shared as 12-hour shifts if preferred. Compensation is provided through an Alternate Funding Agreement (AFA).
Palmerston & District Hospital is an approved Emergency Department Mentorship Program site. Eligible physicians who are new to Ontario emergency practice may access up to four months of funded mentorship to support a confident transition into rural Emergency Medicine. While many physicians join our team with independent emergency experience, this program provides an additional layer of support for those who would benefit from structured mentorship as they establish their practice.
We're building a sustainable physician team where individual strengths complement one another—creating a practice environment that supports both physician satisfaction and exceptional patient care.

Let's Start the Conversation
Family medicine is evolving—and so are we.
We recognize that modern rural family medicine is not one-size-fits-all. While comprehensive family practice remains the foundation of our team, we believe physicians build the most rewarding careers when they can contribute in ways that reflect their individual strengths, interests, and stage of practice.
If that philosophy resonates with you, we'd love to start the conversation.
Build a rural practice that fits your career—and help shape the future of rural healthcare with us.
