About the role

As a Ministry Leader, this is your opportunity to strengthen discipleship pathways for families and young people, ensuring clear next steps at every stage of their faith journey.

Reporting to the Corps Leader (Pastor), this is a permanent, full-time role located in Auburn, NSW.

How you will make an impact

  • Support Corps Leaders in delivering Auburn Salvation Army’s vision, including exploring opportunities for multiplication and planting.
  • Apply Holistic Integrated Mission across all ministries, ensuring activities reflect TSA values and purpose.
  • Lead community‑based ministry by creating faith pathways and engaging actively in the Community Centre.
  • Preach, teach and disciple through regular preaching, training, and development of small groups and Bible studies.
  • Grow youth and children’s ministries by building strong relationships with families and nurturing young disciples.
  • Provide pastoral and operational support including Sunday worship leadership, administration, and assuming Corps leadership when required.

This role is identified as requiring a committed Christian, in accordance with Section 351(2)(c) of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), as it is necessary for the role to conform to the doctrines, beliefs, and principles of The Salvation Army

What you will bring

  • A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army.
  • An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel
  • Theology training/qualifications (desirable)
  • Experience in a Ministry position
  • A solid understanding of TSA Doctrines & Principles (desirable)
  • Capacity to facilitate groups
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural context
  • A Senior soldier of The Salvation Army or willingness to become one.
  • A national police record check is required
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check
  • A current NSW Drivers licence

About The Royal Children's Hospital

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.

In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
