DEPARTMENT MISSION
This is a leadership position, which exists to develop individuals in preparation for full time ministry through officership. This individual will work with the Corps Officer to learn and experience involvement with and leadership of the daily and weekly responsibilities and programming of the corps.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
BASIC FUNCTION AND POSITION
The Ministry Discovery Program Intern will experience the holistic ministry and mission of The Salvation Army. This will require that duties and responsibilities be adjusted as Corps programming and needs change with seasons, training emphasis and local service priorities, all carries the intent of giving a well-rounded experience and exposure to Salvation Army programming and leadership.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports directly with the Corps Officer(s).
They work with other staff, public, clients, program participants, parents, community leaders, volunteers, community service workers, outside groups, and community residents.
This position will supervise youth and program participants, volunteers, and community service workers.
In contacts related to this position’s duties, this individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.
PERFORMANCE MEASURMENTS
This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved.
Timeliness and accuracy of accomplishing assigned goals will be reviewed and an evaluation of how effectively service is provided will be done.
An evaluation of how effectively service is provided will be conducted weekly with Corps Officers.
