The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Ministerial & Correspondence Advisor to join the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA). In this role, you will analyse, prepare and coordinate correspondence in response to enquiries from members of the public, Members of Parliament, and key stakeholders for the EPA Chief Executive Officer, Board and the Minister for the Environment. Additionally, the role provides support to the broader organisation to maintain a strategic, effective and responsive engagement with our stakeholders.

Key knowledge and experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Extensive experience preparing high-quality correspondence and briefing materials
• Strong writing and editing skills, with demonstrated ability to tailor content for diverse audiences
• Extensive experience in coordinating high-quality communications for a range of audiences, including the delivery of strategic advice at an executive level
• Experience leading and managing the delivery of material to assist in effective communication and issues management in a complex, geographically dispersed organisation
• Understanding of the workings of state government and knowledge of the relevant environmental legislation and regulatory practices for the EPA
• Advanced Content Manager skills (super user)
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in communication and correspondence protocols in a public sector environment, with specific reference to Ministerial liaison

About the team

The Ministerial & Executive Liaison (MEL) team sits within the Engagement, Digital and Engagement Division, and is responsible for allocating, tracking, researching and drafting responses to letters on behalf of the EPA CEO, Board and the Minister for the Environment.
