PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide strategic leadership in the Mine Planning function by formulating, directing, and overseeing all planning activities of the mine. The role ensures full alignment with the company's strategic objectives and production targets, thereby maximizing operational compliance, efficiency, and sustainable performance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Degree/ Diploma or Formal Qualification in Mining Engineering, Survey and/or MRM certificate is essential.
- Chamber of Mines Advance Certificate and/or Mine Overseer certificate would be an advantage.
- At least a minimum of 4 years' Hard Rock Tabular Mining Related experience is essential and 2 years working experience as Mine Planner, Senior Surveyor and/or Shift Supervisor is essential
- Proficiency in MS Office package, and mine planning softwares i.e DATAMINE Studio UG, Deswik, CADSMine, Microstation, e.t.c would be an advantage.
KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS:
The successful candidate is responsible for:
- The creation, optimization and implementation of a Business Plan to meet the strategic targets of the shafts.
- The creation, optimization and implementation of the Life of Mine plan.
- Building achievable/ logical graphic designs, in order to provide direction and insight into medium and long term layouts.
- Providing effective problem solving to the production department to assist with the achievement of the plan
- Aligning the inputs of all key stakeholders towards the achievement of the optimized plans
- Ensuring the effective maintenance of layouts and new designs.
- Constructing scenarios for optimized schedules
- Organizing/ co-coordinating of monthly pre-planning meetings
- Controlling the quality of short-term planning processes
- Requesting monthly and ad-hoc mining instructions
- Liaison with departments and collation of data that requires changes to plan / updating Mine Designs with new geology, other applicable information and new monthly faces
- Attending G-Sheet and other meetings, with related inputs
- Updating Development Priority plans
- Analyzing and reporting of variances, from plans to actual
- Making comparisons short-, medium- and long-term plans and reporting variances
- Compiling required management reports
