Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Mining Infrastructure Underground Superintendent on a 2:1 roster to join our new long-term gold project in Western Australia.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, this leading role encompasses compliance, contractor management, operational readiness and the delivery of onsite technical functions. You will develop and implement processes that ensure safe, efficient and sustainable operations.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Lead the day-to-day management and performance of underground service contractors.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement operational readiness for steady-state underground production.
  • Safely deliver underground mine plans, schedules, physical targets, infrastructure requirements and budgets.
  • Lead short-term mine planning and scheduling, including coordination of geotechnical, geological and surveying functions.
  • Partner with corporate commercial and technical teams to support contracting strategies and mine planning.
  • Build strong, productive relationships with contractors, fostering communication, collaboration and accountability.
  • Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, policies and procedures.

The expertise you'll bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a relevant mining discipline.
  • Appropriate statutory underground mine management qualification/competency for the relevant jurisdiction (not mandatory)
  • Significant experience in underground mining operations, infrastructure or mine development.
  • Demonstrated experience managing underground contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven experience in mine planning, scheduling and operational readiness.
  • Experience working with commercial, technical and corporate stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of relevant mining legislation, safety standards and industry practices.
  • Current site-based mining experience with demonstrated leadership capability.
