Mining Engineer - Production Management (m/f) (EN)

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management and successful execution of mining projects, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual, technical, operational, and quality requirements. The incumbent will lead the project team, coordinate all project activities, manage resources and interfaces, monitor project performance, and ensure effective communication with the client and internal stakeholders. The role will focus on maximizing project performance, profitability, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Requirements and Skills Profile

• Higher Education in Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline;
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience, with significant experience in project management in contract mining;
• Proven experience managing mining projects, preferably open-pit mining and contract mining operations;
• Strong knowledge of project management principles, project execution, planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and risk management;
• Proven experience managing project teams, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers;
• Strong understanding of mining operations, equipment, infrastructure, mobilization, commissioning, and operational readiness;
• Ability to develop, implement, and monitor project execution plans, schedules, budgets, resources, and performance indicators;
• Strong financial and commercial awareness, including project cost control, cash flow, forecasting, variations, claims, and contractual requirements;
• Experience in contract management and client relationship management, with the ability to manage contractual interfaces and resolve project-related issues;
• Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, operational constraints, and critical dependencies;
• Strong coordination skills across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, SHEQ, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and other support functions;
• Ability to establish effective project governance, reporting structures, KPIs, and performance management routines;
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills;
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management/planning tools;
• Fluency in English (mandatory) and French (preferred);
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and people management skills;
• High level of accountability, organization, reliability, and attention to detail;
• Proactive mindset with strong initiative and a strong focus on delivery and continuous improvement;
• Commitment to health, safety, environmental, quality, and operational excellence standards;
• Experience working in multicultural and remote project environments is an advantage;
• Previous experience in large-scale mining mobilization, greenfield projects, or project start-ups is an advantage.
