Mineral Processing Technician

Support Safe, Reliable Production Through Accurate Testing and Process Improvement

How You Will Create Value

• Completes pilot and laboratory test programs to ensure quality. You will perform basic laboratory analysis, measuring percent solids, insols, XRD, ICP, and organics.
• Enhance process optimization.
• Assisting with small piping jobs and tracking parts.
• Auditing sampling stations for accuracy.
• Monitor equipment, including speed, horsepower, air rate, and other operating parameters.
• Fulfilling projects to completion, including curing dryer gas consumption, water addition to curing dryer, lang breakage.
• Measure and monitor chemical usage for surface operations and provides warning if usage is up.
• Generates process reports and calibrates plant instruments, including pH meters and Marcy scales.

What You Will Need to Be Successful in the Role

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous lab or maintenance support experience preferred.
• Ability to accurately enter, review, and maintain lab records.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-up, and data accuracy.
• Ability to communicate professionally with maintenance supervisors, planners, operations personnel, and other site staff.
• Ability to prioritize daily tasks, meet reporting deadlines, and handle multiple requests in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
• Good safety and attendance record.
• Safety-conscious, self-motivated, dependable, and committed to supporting accurate maintenance reporting and documentation.

Physical Requirements

Job physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, making visual inspections, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and grasping. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and push and/or pull up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders and potentially work at heights, as well as perceive color differences. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed and engage in strenuous physical activity.
