Collinsville Open Cut is Queensland’s oldest existing coal mine, with a long history of producing quality metallurgical and thermal coal for export markets and a bright future. Located approximately 160 km from Airlie Beach in North Queensland, the operation combines the experience of an established mine with a workforce focused on getting the job done safely and effectively. With a strong connection to the local community and a practical, hands-on approach, Collinsville is a place where people work together, share their experience and look for better ways to do things.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager we are recruiting for an experienced Mine Surveyor to join our Technical Services team.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with the safe provision of surveying support to a range of activities typical to a large coal mining operation.
  • Provide support for production, statutory plans, and civil and structural projects.
  • Work in a team with other professionals and contribute to the timely provision of end-of-month volumes.
  • Ensure alignment with business objectives, operational efficiency and resource maximisation

About You:

  • Seeking/undertaking tertiary qualifications in Surveying or significant industry experience
  • Experience in open cut coal mine surveying.
  • Proficient user of Vulcan/Point studio, Microsoft Excel, Agisoft Metashape, DJI Terra, Global Mapper and ArcGIS highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using Maptek Isite Scanners, Leica Total stations and GPS
  • Remote pilot licence with AROC certification RPA/UAV and experience with multi-rotor DJI 350, Mavic 4, and VTOL Griffin Pro.
  • Highly motivated, have a strong work ethic and demonstrate safe work behaviour
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience is a plus.
