About the Role

  • Location: Interior British Columbia (Fly-in/Fly-out)
  • Job Type: Full-time, Site-Based Rotation (2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off)

JDS Energy & Mining is seeking an experienced Security Manager to lead and oversee all security operations at a remote mining project located in the interior of British Columbia. This is a site-based leadership position operating on a fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) rotational schedule, with full camp accommodations provided while on site. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of mine site security, including access control, emergency response coordination, investigations, contractor oversight, asset protection, and security risk management. Working closely with site leadership, HSE teams, operations personnel, contractors, and external stakeholders, this role is critical to maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant operating environment while supporting uninterrupted mining operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all site security operations in a remote mining environment
  • Oversee site access control systems, gatehouse operations, personnel screening, and visitor management
  • Supervise and coordinate contract security personnel and ensure adequate site coverage at all times
  • Conduct routine security inspections, patrols, audits, and risk assessments across the mine site, camp, and associated infrastructure
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site security procedures, standards, and emergency response protocols
  • Investigate security incidents including theft, vandalism, trespassing, property damage, workplace violence, and policy violations
  • Prepare detailed incident reports, investigation findings, and corrective action recommendations
  • Coordinate emergency response activities related to security incidents, evacuations, critical events, and site emergencies
  • Monitor and maintain security systems including CCTV, alarms, communications systems, and access control technology
  • Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders as required
  • Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Support site leadership in identifying operational security risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, site procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate security records, logs, investigations, and reporting databases
  • Participate in site safety meetings, risk assessments, emergency response exercises, and incident investigations
  • Promote a strong site security culture focused on professionalism, accountability, and safety
