Zimbabwe Platinum Mines (Pvt) Limited (ZIMPLATS) is the largest platinum group metals producer in Zimbabwe. It owns and operates the Selous Metallurgical Complex (SMC), Ngezi Concentrator and the Ngezi Underground Mines

This is a statutory ancillary role in which incumbents form the Mining Division Rescue Team.

ROLE TITLE Mine Rescue Team member (Brigades person)

JOB GRADING N/A

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Aged between 21 and 35 years of age
• 5 O levels including Mathematics, Science and English Language
• Minimum Grade C3 Collective Bargaining Agreement
• Minimum 2 years work experience (Any exception to be approved by the Mine Rescue Team Manager)
• A clean class 4 drivers license an added advantage
• Must be physically fit
• Prospective candidates must be willing to undergo an initial medical training course, heat tolerance and workload tests
• Women are encouraged to apply
• Knowledge of the Business Management System (BMS)

LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:

• A self-starter with excellent interpersonal, planning and problem-solving skills
• Supervisory skills
• Good communication and organizational skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carrying out mine rescue exercises as and when directed by the Mine Rescue Team Manager
• Attending weekly and monthly team training
• Maintaining all mine rescue equipment in good working order
• Providing supervision and enforcing standards as per Mine Rescue Association Charter
• Supporting and implementing the Business Management System (BMS).
