Mine Production Engineer

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer, this role is responsible for developing and implementing open pit mine plans, schedules and projects that support safe, efficient and cost-effective mining operations. You will work closely with operational and technical teams to optimise production outcomes, monitor performance against plan and ensure mining activities are aligned with budget, safety and environmental requirements.

This position operates on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, working 10-hour shifts. We are open to residential and DIDO candidates, with camp accommodation available where required.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain monthly, weekly and daily mine plans, designs and production schedules to support safe and efficient operations
• Monitor mining performance against production targets, medium-term plans and budgets
• Coordinate with Drill and Blast, Geology and Processing teams to ensure activities are aligned with the mine plan
• Conducting regular field inspections to review production and safety conditions and resolve operational issues
• Provide technical direction and support to mining contractors and site stakeholders
• Manage mining-related projects, including haul road, drainage and infrastructure planning, and identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Assist with ROM management and crusher feed scheduling to meet plant requirements
• Support rehabilitation planning and environmental compliance activities

About the Candidate:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Geology or Surveying
• Demonstrated experience in open pit mine planning and scheduling
• Strong understanding of mine economics, mining safety and environmental requirements
• Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Proficient in mine planning software and computer applications
• Mine Engineering degree or Quarry Manager's Certificate highly regarded
