Job Description

Entry level position for training to be a heavy truck driver.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Driving 240 Ton CAT Haul Truck.

  • Work safely around moving equipment.

  • Requires ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift.

  • Various duties as assigned.

  • Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to climb a ladder.

  • Must be able to work rotating shifts/days.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and standard operating procedures.

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods.

  • Squatting, lifting, sweeping, shoveling, moving (pulling) 4160 electrical cable weighing approx. 50lbs.

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions/ environments: rain, wind, heat- humidity, muddy, dusty, uneven-rocky terrain

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Current, valid driver’s license required.

  • Prior heavy equipment & Mining operations experience preferred.

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • The job requires training or instruction in the area of environmental Awareness.
  • This job requires training or instruction in the area of Safety & Health awareness including completion of the appropriate OSHA and/or MSHA training.
  • Steel toe Boots.
