Job Description

As a Mine Geologist you will be part of a passionate team working a lifestyle DIDO, 8:6 days roster, dayshift only. This permanent level opportunity will report to the Senior Mine Geologist and be a vital member of the Mining Geology Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• An absolute commitment to working safely, complying with all site safety standards and ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace is essential.
• Daily monitoring, validation and quality assessment of mining, drilling and assay data.
• Complete daily and weekly reporting duties.
• Complete routine pit mapping as required.
• Assist with planning and execution of grade control programs, ore control and ore production which result in safe and productive mining.
• Assist with the maintenance and deliver quality grade control models to support open pit planning.
• Liaise with mine planning engineers, pit supervisors, metallurgists and other mining professionals as required, promoting inter-team communication.

About you:

• Degree in Geology.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position in mine operations and grade control would be beneficial, however graduate geologists are encouraged to apply.
• Residency or similar status to work in Australia.
• Punctual and reliable with a willingness to learn.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in your work.
• Well organised and have the ability to work independently.
• Hold a valid Australian manual C class drivers license.
