Job Description

About Alamos Gold Inc.: Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a long-term track record of creating value for all stakeholders through solid financial performance, low-cost production growth, and a company-wide commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. We currently operate three mines – two in Canada and one in Mexico – and we have a strong portfolio of development stage projects, including the Lynn Lake Project and Island Gold Phase 3+ Expansion in Canada, and Puerto Del Aire Project in Mexico. Alamos also has an early-stage exploration project in Canada, the Qiqavik Gold Project. Our core values of safety, teamwork, environmental sustainability, integrity, and commitment allow our more than 1,900 dedicated team members to thrive in their careers and to create a lasting legacy that benefits all Alamos stakeholders.

About Island Gold Mine: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold Mine is one of Canada’s highest grade and lowest cost gold mines. With over 550 team members, the underground operation is located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality. This has supported a multi-phase expansion of the operation, driving production higher, costs lower, and strong free cash flow growth. If you are willing to be part of a team that is dedicated to growth, high performance and a culture of safety and accountability, we would like to hear from you!

Join Us in Shaping the Future of Underground Mining

Are you passionate about underground mine planning and optimization? Do you thrive in a collaborative, technically complex environment where your work directly influences operational success? If you are an experienced mining engineer who excels in mid-range planning, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination, we want you on our team.

As the Mine Engineer – Mid‑Range Planning, reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing the rolling 12‑month mine plan for the Island Gold Mine. You will ensure alignment between development and production activities and the mine’s strategic objectives, while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changes in resource models and operational priorities. Working closely with engineering, production, and geology teams, you will deliver practical and executable plans that support both short-term performance and long-term growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Mid‑Range Mine Planning: Lead the development of rolling 12‑month forecasts, including mine plans, schedules, and production forecasts that support operational execution and corporate objectives.
  • Integration & Alignment: Integrate infrastructure, construction, and maintenance requirements into the mid‑range plan and ensure alignment between short‑range, mid‑range, and long‑range mine plans.
  • Collaboration & Technical Support: Work closely with production, geology, and engineering teams to ensure compliance with the mine plan and provide technical support to operations, construction, and technical services.
  • Analysis & Optimization: Conduct scenario analysis and trade‑off studies to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization of the mine plan.
  • Reporting & Studies: Contribute to monthly reporting, variance analysis, and budgeting activities. Provide input into Life of Mine planning, scoping, pre‑feasibility and feasibility studies, including AFEs and economic justification of projects.
  • Leadership & Development: Supervise & provide guidance to junior engineers, surveyors, and drill and blast planners. Support senior engineers through active participation in site‑wide initiatives.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of one of Canada’s fastest‑growing and lowest‑cost gold mining districts.
