Seaspan Shipyards is proud to be Canada’s long-term, strategic shipbuilding partner for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. As a direct result of this work, while creating jobs and rebuilding our domestic shipbuilding industry, Seaspan Shipyards is delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.
Vancouver Shipyards, located in North Vancouver, is proud to be at the forefront of some of the most significant shipbuilding projects in Canadian history. We’re making steady progress on two 174-metre-long Joint Support Ships (JSS) for the Royal Canadian Navy — the largest vessels ever constructed in Canada. At the same time, we're advancing work on the Offshore Oceanographic Science Vessel (OOSV) for the Canadian Coast Guard. Most recently, we’ve begun construction of Canada’s first heavy Polar Icebreaker in over 50 years — a historic milestone for our nation’s Arctic capabilities.
Following that we have several Multi-Purpose Vessels that are currently designing for construction in years to come. These projects bring long-term job stability on some of the most exciting and significant shipbuilding opportunities in the world.
Now is a great time to join the team at Seaspan and be part of the regeneration of the shipbuilding tradition and become a member of a talented, diverse team that is forging a bright future for Canadian shipbuilding at one of the most modern shipyards in North America.
