To support this mission, Syngenta’s SE Production Operations Team is seeking a Millwright Lead in Pasco, WA. This role will direct a team of 2–3 millwrights and supplemental contractors to execute day-to-day maintenance, repair, and capital investment projects ($5,000–$200,000) across North America Vegetable Seed Processing.

The Millwright Lead will be working closely with the Industrial Maintenance Manager and NA Seeds Engineering. This role drives equipment reliability, minimizes unplanned downtime, and delivers capital projects on scope, schedule, and budget.

Accountabilities:

  • Equipment reliability and measurable reduction of unplanned downtime across NA Vegetable Seed Processing.
  • Safe, compliant execution of all maintenance and capital work per Syngenta HSE standards.
  • Performance management of direct reports and contractors against clear KPIs.
  • Accurate PM documentation and CMMS recordkeeping.
  • On-scope, on-schedule, on-budget capital project delivery ($5,000–$200,000).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent required.
  • 7–10 years of industrial maintenance experience; agricultural, food processing, or seed processing environment preferred.
  • Proven track record leading maintenance teams and coordinating contractors on repair and capital projects.
  • Hands-on experience with CMMS, PM programs, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and industrial machinery (conveyors, drives, gearboxes, pumps, HVAC).
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs; familiarity with SCADA and PLC systems preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends during peak production seasons.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs) in a plant environment.
  • Occasional evening/weekend availability required during peak season.
  • Travel by car/truck to NA sites, as needed.
  • PPE required for plant and field operations.
  • 20% office / ~80% plant, field, or active maintenance/construction environment.

Additional Information

Salary for this position ranges between $60,000 - $84,000 annually
