Position Overview
Title: Millwright III
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Responsible for supporting planning and scope definition for shift maintenance and project planning. Role is responsible for supporting TM development, onboarding, training, and safety accountability as listed under essential duties. Additionally, TM will direct TMs on the scope of repair or projects while communicating with customers, maintenance leadership, and supporting shift handoff process

Essential Duties

• Safety Expectations:
◦ Certified trainer in equipment permitting for: Overhead hoist, sky track, manlift, and hilo
◦ Trainer for Lockout
◦ Entering Incidents & Hazard IDs in Velocity
◦ Perform Weekly ISA
◦ Participating in Safety Committee
◦ Trained in Hot Work, Confined Space, and Fire Watch, PAI authorized
• Support maintenance team in scope and timing definition for key areas below:
◦ Planned maintenance / downtime repairs
◦ Planned project execution
◦ Emergency downtime / breakdown repair
• Communication expectations
▪ Participate in daily huddles
▪ Participating in project planning review meetings
▪ Communicate end of day hand off
i. Safety concerns
ii. Completed items
iii. Needs for the next shift (if applicable)
• Notification to operations leadership upon arrival and departure from their locations with a recap of items in 3c above and any permit required work requirements (hot work or confined space entry)
• Support technical development of Millwright I and Millwright II TMs through
◦ Training through on-boarding of new team members through their onboarding and training process
◦ Train new team members on equipment above
◦ Provide oversight of scope and quality of work completed on the job site
◦ Lead by example – demonstrate proper tasks, sequence, and execution of skillsets necessary to complete work
• Complete all PADNOS training requirements of both existing and new TMs

• Strategic development of new and less experienced team members on staff

Leadership Responsibilities
• Lead and Teach team based on assignment from Maintenance Supervisor. Refer to Essential Duties
• Lead and support investigative efforts for safety, damage, or machinery downtime review towards corrective actions
• Lead and support PADNOS safety cadence for training, ISAs, or corrective actions

Education & Experience Requirements
• High school diploma or GED
• 10+ years’ experience in machine repair
▪ Or State Certified
• Experience leading teams / job
• Extensive experience trouble shooting mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Proven track record of developing others

Qualifications
• Safety expectations
◦ Must be safety conscious
◦ Internal candidates must be able to:
i. Enter Incident / Hazard into Velocity
ii. LOTO Certified
iii. Trained in the use of enforcers and water trucks
• Must have an existing chauffeur’s license
• Mathematical and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work with drawings/blueprints
◦ Proven ability to use caliber and micrometers
◦ Proven ability to field fit / fabricate in the field
◦ Proven ability to read hydraulic schematics
• Proven hands-on experience and knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and all parts of machine repair
◦ Scrap Recycling Industry knowledge preferred.
◦ Working knowledge of conveyors
◦ Understanding of Controls
• Torches, mig and tig welding, ARC and fabrications applications experience
◦ Must be able to pass hands on Welding Test
• Three years’ experience in machine repair and a proven record of accomplishment
• Ability to utilize Maintenance planning software/s

• Strong communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Proven attention to accuracy and detail
• Must be willing to travel with occasional overnight stay

• Must be willing to work in an outdoor environment

◦ While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time and be able to move about in an outside and warehouse environment
◦ Operate computer, machinery, tools, vehicles and industrial equipment and must have the ability to use hands to move, set up, adjust, assemble, control, test, operate, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms
◦ Constantly communicate and exchange information with team members and must be able to effectively communicate correct information with vendors.
◦ Read/comprehend, write, communicate orally, reasoning and analytical abilities, and mental flexibility
◦ Frequently move objects up to 75 unless a higher number is provided pounds
◦ The employee will constantly climb, bend, squat, kneel, crouch, and reach above shoulder when working with equipment, material loading and unloading, and other related tasks
◦ Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to compare and distinguish material grades and administrative data
◦ Hearing ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking level with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound

Working Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly working in a typical outdoor and warehouse work environment
• Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by weather
• Exposure to hazardous materials, extreme heat, and proximity to moving mechanical parts
• Requires wearing common protective and safety equipment
• Position may involve extended work hours
• Exposure to sound and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable

Travel
This position requires travel for upwards of 30% of the time. Maintaining a valid Chauffeur’s License is required
