Our Millwright II is responsible for the independent installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery and equipment to support efficient operations and minimize downtime. This role applies advanced mechanical and electrical knowledge to diagnose equipment failures, identify corrective actions, and execute repairs that restore and improve functionality. The position interprets complex blueprints and schematics, develops and documents procedures for new jobs and rebuilds, and collaborates with engineering, operations support, and product development to ensure optimal equipment performance. In addition to working independently and as part of a team, Millwright II trains and mentors other Millwright’s and may serve as a lead or point of contact on projects. This role also supports investigative efforts related to safety and equipment performance, utilizes maintenance systems to manage work orders and parts, and contributes to safety, culture, and continuous improvement initiatives across the department and company.

Responsibilities
• Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings, and interpret complex schematics to determine work process
• Diagnose equipment failures, identify corrective actions, and execute repairs to restore and improve functionality
• Perform advanced mechanical and electrical repairs and troubleshooting on production equipment
• Collaboration with engineering, operations support, and product development to ensure machinery and equipment are working properly
• Develop and document procedures on new jobs, rebuilds, and maintenance practices for filing in permanent record
• Train and mentor Millwright I employees and support onboarding and development of new team members
• May be asked to act as a stand-in lead on specific jobs and projects and serve as point of contact for maintenance and operational leadership for project recaps, continuation, or handoffs
• May be asked to support investigative efforts related to safety, equipment damage, or machinery downtime and assist in identifying corrective actions
• Utilize maintenance systems to enter work orders, track repairs, and look up and order spare parts
• Ensure minimal downtime through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem-solving efforts
• Support the development of safety, culture, and best practice initiatives within the department and company
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• Willingness to travel up to 30%
• Valid chauffeur’s license and DOT medical card
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• 3+ years of machine repair experience with proven performance
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and basic control systems
• Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues
• Experience with fabrication and field fitting of components
• Proficiency in welding and fabrication (MIG, TIG, ARC, air arcing)
• Ability to interpret engineered drawings and develop maintenance procedures and documentation
• Experience with maintenance planning or work order systems
• Safety certifications including LOTO and hot work authorization (PAI), with experience in incident and hazard reporting
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in outdoor, industrial, and elevated environments
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and machine rebuilding
