- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on sawmill machinery (e.g., conveyors, motors, gearboxes, chains, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems).
- Repairs & Installation: Assist in installing, aligning, and calibrating new equipment and replacing components such as bearings, shafts, and sprockets.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues under the supervision of senior millwrights.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, particularly Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and maintain a safe, clean work area.
- Documentation: Accurately document all maintenance activities and repairs

QualificationsRequirements

Experience: Prior exposure to manufacturing or sawmill environments is preferred but not always required for this entry-level role.
- Skills: Basic mechanical knowledge, understanding of industrial equipment, and the ability to use tools (tape measures, calipers, etc.).
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more, stand, walk, bend, and climb frequently.
- Attributes: Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
