 Millwork Estimator

About the Role

Our client, a specialist millwork company, is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Millwork Estimator to join their remote team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate quotations and cost estimates for custom millwork projects, while supporting clients throughout the quoting process.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in estimating, quotations, cabinetry, joinery, woodworking, or construction-related environments who enjoys working with precision and delivering high-quality service.

The position is fully remote and aligned to US working hours.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00am – 5:00pm EST
• South African hours: 3:00pm – 11:00pm

Salary

• USD $7 – $9 per hour
• Dependent on experience and level of expertise

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates for millwork and custom woodworking projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine pricing
• Assist clients with quote requests and pricing-related queries
• Calculate material, labour, and production costs
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure estimates are aligned with project scope
• Maintain and update pricing information within systems and spreadsheets
• Ensure all estimates are completed accurately and within required turnaround times
• Support continuous improvement of estimating and quoting processes
• Deliver high-quality work with strong attention to detail and accuracy

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience in estimating, quoting, or costing roles
• Experience within millwork, cabinetry, joinery, woodworking, manufacturing, construction, or related industries preferred
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Knowledge of QuickBooks is essential
• Strong computer literacy and ability to work across multiple systems
• Excellent communication and client service skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Stable fibre internet connection and reliable backup power solution required

Preferred Experience

• Understanding of custom cabinetry, architectural woodwork, or interior fit-out projects
• Experience reading technical drawings or project specifications
• Exposure to US-based clients or projects advantageous
