Job Description

Prepare and supply maintenance crews with all necessary mill work including but not limited to the fabrication of doors, windows, cabinetry, moldings, turnings, and all other woodwork needed for maintaining the parks. Carry out field installations when required. Support internal discretionary work including but not limited to cabinetry and custom millwork.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Custom fabrication and installation of custom windows, doors
  • Custom fabrication/installation of cabinets including countertops using solid surface, composite materials, laminates and veneers
  • Know and understand how to safely operate Mill Shop equipment such as; Table Saw, Jointer, Planer, Shaper, Molder, Surface
  • Performs necessary maintenance repairs and installation as assigned
  • Design/build custom templates from field measurements and provide material take-offs for fabrication
  • Ability to read, interpret and fabricate from Architectural and Engineering drawings
  • Performs machine and equipment maintenance and general shop clean up.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • High school degree or GED is required
  • Technical school is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years general carpentry and mill shop required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
