The Mill Operator is accountable for the safe, efficient operation of all equipment necessary for the production of pellets for the LG/HG kilns
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Operate system within prescribed parameters as outlined in the SOP’s for LG/HG Mills
Record production/process data as needed
Issue work requests for equipment/processes requiring maintenance
The Mill Operator must routinely check and maintain the required quality for all green pellet production as per published specifications
Perform Level 1 maintenance on equipment in area of responsibility as needed
Maintain housekeeping in area of responsibility as per Imerys Refractory Minerals standards
Perform any additional duties as described by Mill Foreman or Production Supervisor
Skills and Attributes Requirements
Must be able to effectively communicate both orally or written
Must be able to work all shifts as per schedule
Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
Will be required to wear all necessary PPE
Will require basic computer skills necessary to operate Mill Control System, access/write emails, basic word documents and issue work requests
Education/Experience Requirements
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Environment
While performing the duties of this job; the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise, outside weather in all conditions and materials used in the process.
Frequent walking, standing, and sitting with exposure to all seasonal climatic conditions.
Occasionally lifting, carrying, and/or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
Approximately 100% plant environment.
