JP Corry are recruiting for a Mill Operative to join the successful, supportive team at their Belfast, Springfield Rd store.
What you’ll be doing:
Duties to include, but not limited to:
Operating a variety of woodworking machinery such as; wall-saw, edge bander, glue press, rip-saw and planer
Modification and finishing of washroom systems e.g. lipping, adjusting, trimming/ cutting down sheet materials
Adherence to EHS standards by ensuring; work area is kept tidy, work area is cleaned daily, machinery is rigorously maintained
Working Hours:
Monday - Thursday 07.30 - 16.15 and Friday 07.30 - 13.00 and overtime as and when needed.
What you’ll need to have:
Proven experience in a timber mill
Proven ability to operate machinery, setting the correct specifications with minimal supervision
The ability to work on own initiative
The ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
Comfortable working in a busy environment
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
It would be great if you also have:
Prior use of an edge bander, glue press, wall-saw and planers (Desirable)
Prior experience of washroom, woodworking and production (Desirable)
Relevant woodwork machinery qualification (Desirable)
These are desirable skills or experience and are not essential, so we would welcome applications from candidates that don’t match this additional criteria.
