The Military Information Support Operations (MISO) Planner supports USFK Joint IO/IW planning and execution by developing MISO-focused planning products and integrating MISO as an IRC into operations, orders, and assessments . The role helps synchronize MISO with other IRCs and sensitive activities, informs leadership decision-making through analysis and assessment, and supports readiness for day-to-day competition and contingency operations .

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop MISO-related operational concepts, plans, annexes/tabs, estimates, and deliverables for joint planning
  • Research, develop, validate, utilize, analyze, and assess MISO tools/capabilities and their integration with IO/IW, OIE, and sensitive activities
  • Incorporate MISO and related IRCs into operations orders, annexes, and evaluation/assessment plans
  • Conduct or support quantitative/qualitative analysis and assessment research to establish baselines and evaluate IO/IW and sensitive activities effectiveness
  • Support academic outreach, experiments, and scientific application integration aligned to IO/IW objectives
  • Contribute to IRC approaches and required IRC roll-ups supporting USFK OAIs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in MISO planning, information operations, influence activities, assessment, or related operational planning
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and staff planning products and integrate outputs into orders/annexes and assessment plans
  • Applied analytical skills supporting baseline development and effectiveness assessment in operational contexts
  • Ability to operate effectively in a security-conscious environment and comply with all training/access requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating MISO within multi-IRC portfolios and campaign planning (OIE integration)
  • Experience supporting experiments/innovation efforts and transitioning insights into operationally usable products
  • Familiarity with joint doctrine relevant to IO/IW and influence planning (as applicable to the TO)

  • Competition activities: synchronized MISO planning embedded into campaign products and OAIs
  • Assessment-driven refinement: measurable baselines and assessment outputs informing adjustments to IO/IW and sensitive activities
