Job Description

The Milieu Manager is responsible for the daily administrative operation of the Member Services Department including Peer Support Services, Education Services and other services for members as needed. The Milieu Manager reports to the Program Director for weekly supervision and programmatic assignments.

Location: The Boston Living Center is a drop-in day center in Boston’s Back Bay serving marginalized individuals in the community since the 80’s. The center has been helping to erase stigma and facilitate connections for its members through peer supported, congregate services, which aim to care for the whole individual, promoting stabilization and healthy connections through the lifespan.

Essential Functions:

  • Act in accordance with Victory Programs’ Standards of Excellence at all times, including maintaining professional ethics, boundaries and client confidentiality.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction for the Member Services Department ensuring that the services are in compliance with all contractual requirements.
  • Supervise, direct, train and evaluate the Member Services staff with the support of the Division Director of Prevention, Clinical Director and the Program Director.
  • Submit reports as requested and required by the Program Director.
  • Manage staff schedules to ensure coverage that provides quality services.
  • Manage the ongoing training and workforce development of Member Services Team.
  • Oversee the process and procedures of intakes and orientation of new members.
  • Manage the timely collection, accuracy and integrity of all data relating to member utilization of programs and services.
  • Support the coordination of high impact prevention evidence-based interventions, including but not limited to Healthy Relationships and Ready/Steady/Go.
  • Support the implementation of health literacy workshops.
  • Review progress notes and other paperwork and oversee a system of referral and follow-up in collaboration with the Clinical Director.
  • Facilitate collaboration on referrals and programming with the Victory Connector and other VPI programs, including co-facilitating joint case conferencing.
  • Responsible for addressing member issues in consultation with the Clinical Director of Prevention and Program Director.
  • Provide crisis intervention as appropriate and follow agency policies and procedures for reporting incidents.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and Clinical Director on the development of Member Services policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate on special events for members.
  • Provide staffing support for all member activities including the meals program, social events and workshops.
  • Facilitate Member Services team meetings.
  • Develop new and maintain existing service linkages to support the program, including developing relationships with local service providers.
  • Provide weekly individual supervision with Member Service staff.
  • Attend weekly supervision with the Program Director.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Represent the program in the community as requested by your supervisor.
  • Attend weekly staff and clinical team meetings, in-service training and agency workshops.
  • Participate and support the agency in program events, State House rallies, fundraising and advocacy events, HIV/AIDS rally and walk and any additional functions.
  • Perform any other duty or task that may be requested from time to time by your supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational, writing and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding HIV/AIDS and the Principles of Harm Reduction.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in multicultural settings with diverse client groups.
  • Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse and disenfranchised populations in a community/milieu setting.
  • Must be CPR certified (may be obtained upon hire)
  • Completed TB screening (may be obtained upon hire)
  • Three work related professional references; at least 2 from manager or supervisor.

Position Type: Full-time (40 hours) Monday - Friday, some evenings required. On site

Rate: $62,324.00 Annually

Upon hire, employees working 20+ hours a week are entitled to up to: 4 personal days, 160 sick hours, 10 holidays and 3 1/2 weeks of vacation. These figures adjust based on full time or part time status and allocated vacation time increases with length of employment.
