Job Description

  • Responsibilities:
    • Communication:
      • Collaborate and communicate with Major League physical therapists and Minor League Medical Coordinator on details of player injury and individual rehabilitation processes. (ML rehabs, MnL priority rehabs, and if needed, any additional MnL rehabs).
      • Inform Asst. ML Physical therapist, Milg Medical Coordinator and Medical Director of injury during daily activities that they may not be aware of; this allows communication daily with Front Office.
      • Communicate with Asst. Ml Rehab coordinator and Sports Medicine & Performance staff in Arizona throughout season regarding all rehab players returning to affiliates or players who will rehab at that affiliate discussing plan of care and baseball progressions
      • Communicate with rehab players during the off season addressing any needs for corrective exercise and baseball progressions while collaborating with Asst. ML rehab coordinator to ensure continuity of messaging
    • Treatment, Testing, Evaluation, Rehabilitation Plan
      • Assess, evaluate & treat players creating:
        • Rehab Plan of Care (Long Term)
        • Daily Treatment/Corrective Plans
        • Return to Baseball Progressions
  • Work closely with SM&P staff to identify impairments which are creating increased future injury risk as well as identifying potential areas leading to performance enhancement.
  • Collaborate with Performance staff to modify workouts and tailor them to the individual needs of each player
  • Assist in testing/re-testing of athletes throughout the year and implementing corrective programs accordingly
  • Leadership
    • Lead and collaborate with affiliate medical/performance staffs about player plans when completing portions of rehab at that affiliate
    • Perform in-services/education discussions at CBR to assist in staff development
    • Assist in Minor League portion of intern programs
    • Assist in coordinating off-season in house continuing education and professional development opportunities
    • Research current scientific-based literature and trends in the field of health, wellness, nutrition, recovery, manual therapy, and sports medicine
  • Administration/Supply
    • Maintain daily treatment notes, as well as up-to-date medical files in AHMS.
    • Assist ML rehab coordinator and minor league medical coordinator with any administration needs as directed
    • Maintain cleanliness and professionalism of training room
    • Maintain file copies of necessary documentation.
    • Maintain all licensures & certifications pertaining to job responsibilities.
    • Research and suggest new training room supplies and equipment
    • Assist in inputting necessary rehab player files in EMR and N drive
  • Networking
    • Continue to build key relationships with local, national & international experts regarding sports performance, health & wellness in an effort to raise brand awareness and stay on the cutting edge of the field.
    • Build good relationships and dialect with both minor league R&D team and PD staff

The Dodgers have won seven World Series titles and 21 National League pennants. Eight Cy Young Award winners have pitched for the Dodgers, winning a total of ten Cy Young Awards (both MLB records). The team has also produced 12 Rookie of the Year award winners, including four back-to-back from 1979–1982 and five back-to-back from 1992–1996, the longest consecutive streaks in Major League Baseball.
