
About the role
Mater Private Hospital Mackay has an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Midwifery Unit Manager with strong leadership skills to join our Women and Children’s Unit on a permanent full-time basis.
As the Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM), you will provide operational/clinical management and leadership to this Maternity department and provide a professional line management responsibility to nurses/midwives in the organisation. As the leader of this team, you will provide exceptional nursing management and be responsible for the clinical, resource management and education accountabilities of nursing within our Maternity Unit. Additionally, you will ensure the provision of best practice, quality and safety aspects of patient care in a clinically supportive and patient centric environment.
Our Women & Children’s Unit provides comprehensive, family‑centred care across maternity, paediatric, and gynaecological services. We support women throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period, while also offering care for children requiring minor surgical procedures. The unit additionally provides a range of small surgical gynaecology services, delivered by experienced clinicians in a safe and supportive environment.
Salary range: $71.42 - $76.80 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
