About the role

The Mater Mothers’ Hospital currently has an exciting opportunity for a Midwife to work within our Public Postnatal unit on a 12 month, maximum term basis, working 32 hours per week (0.8FTE)

Mater Mothers' Hospital is a leader in the provision of high-quality maternity and newborn services for the people of Queensland. Providing exceptional care and support of women and their families, Mater Mothers' Hospitals offer integrated services covering obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology, and maternal fetal medicine. Care is delivered in accordance with best practice standards and in a highly collaborative environment.

Salary range: $42.99 - $55.14 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

You will be responsible for providing postnatal care with a high volume of normal and complex care cases within the Mater Mothers’ Hospitals. 

The experience and skills you bring to the role will ensure you will adapt easily to requirements of this postnatal ward and make you a valued member of a team that is committed to delivering exceptional midwifery care.

About you

The successful candidates will have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA with midwifery endorsement
  • Demonstrated high levels of communication (both written and verbal) and clinical problem-solving skills
  • Evidence of continuing educational and professional development, preferably post graduate qualifications
  • Commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
  • Ability to work in a team environment including the larger multidisciplinary team

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
