Mingus Mountain Academy, has immediate openings for Equestrian Trainer. Mingus Mountain Academy is a residential treatment center for emotionally and behaviorally at-risk adolescent girls that helps them achieve a positive, healthy future. Founded in 1985, the Academy is located on a 120-acre campus surrounded by National Forest, 25 minutes from the town of Prescott Valley, Arizona. Our program combines a positive culture, caring staff, careful medical treatment, individualized psychotherapy and education, and numerous activities, including our unique equestrian program.

Snapshot of Daily Duties
• Assign books to read, including classics and contemporary novels.
• Help students interpret literature and poetry.
• Provide background on authors' life and works.
• Teach students about the structure and content of the English language, including proper grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.
• Teach about different literary styles.
• Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities
• Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
• Participate in ongoing training sessions.
• Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
• Maintain grade books.
• Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.
• Write grant proposals to gain funding for further research.
• Create projects designed to enhance lectures.
• Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.
• Create lesson plans.
• Utilize various curriculum resources.
The Must Haves
• Minimum age of 21
• Teaching degree* and Arizona State Certification in area subjects (ARS 15 - 533 AZ). Related experience in providing education to adolescents with special needs.
• Ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card (or have a current valid level 1 fingerprint card).
• Individual judgment, discretion, and decision making skills.
• Energetic, self-motivated, maintains professionalism and confidentiality.

Founded in 1999, Sequel Youth & Family Services is a leading national behavioral health organization that develops and operates a broad continuum of treatment programs for children, adolescents, adults, and families with severe behavioral health, emotional, and physical challenges. Our diverse client population struggling with severe behavioral, addiction, psychiatric, emotional, or conduct disorders, as well as autism and other comorbidities.

The Sequel Network is comprised of 39 programs in 20 states and serves the behavioral health journey over the client lifetime ranging from Autism spectrum disorder services to residential treatment services for behavioral health, child welfare, and juvenile justice clients.
