Middle School Spanish Teacher and Advisor
Fort Worth Country Day is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered educator who loves teaching middle school students and is eager to join a vibrant community. Reporting to the Head of Middle School, this dynamic, highly qualified, and approachable teacher will serve as both a member of the Modern and Classical Languages department and an advisor, beginning in August 2026.
Our ideal candidate builds strong relationships with students and designs engaging, collaborative lessons that invite learners to construct knowledge together. They also have classroom management skills which emphasize mutual respect and positive reinforcement. We value educators who bring a balanced pedagogical toolkit grounded in research-supported methods while remaining open to exploring new approaches.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Teach four Spanish classes to middle school students
Serve as an advisor for twelve to fourteen sixth or seventh grade students
Clearly communicate classroom expectations and grade student work in a timely manner using growth-mindset feedback
Develop strong partnerships with families

A high level of written and spoken proficiency that may come from formal Spanish study and/or study abroad

Fort Worth Country Day is a co-ed, junior kindergarten through grade 12 college-preparatory day school with approximately 1,100 students and 250 faculty and staff. Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish or a related field
3-5 years of classroom teaching experience is preferred
Previous work experience in grades 5-8 in a college preparatory independent school environment is preferred
