Middle School Girls Basketball Coach

(26.27 Winter Season)

REPORTS TO: Athletic Director

MISSION: At the Academy of Dover, each child is a valued and unique individual. The educational process is student-centered and achieved by partnerships involving students, parents/guardians, and staff where each child embraces the love, joy, and value of the education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Previous experience in coaching middle school basketball.
  2. Must demonstrate a firm knowledge of DIAA rules and regulations.
  3. Employment with the Academy of Dover is contingent upon successful completion of:
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Child Protection Registry
  • TB Test
  • Verification of Credentials and Past Employment
  • Adherence to Academy Policies and Procedures

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITY:

  1. Plan, implement and organize daily practice plans.
  2. Adapt and modify coaching techniques, strategies and game plans.
  3. Promotes and maintains positive public relations with parents/guardians and the community.
  4. Provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship and player conduct.
  5. Complies with all DIAA and Academy policies and regulations.
  6. Communicates thoroughly and effectively pre, post and in season information to players, parents/guardians and school administrators.
  7. Maintain and inventory all equipment and uniforms.
  8. Oversee the safety of the athletes and facility.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned in relation to the position.
