The arts are deeply valued within the Bullis community and are enthusiastically supported by administration, families, and faculty. Performing Arts faculty prepare students for a range of performance opportunities— for dance that includes dance showcases, pep rallies, school assemblies, and other community events—while maintaining a strong commitment to the educational journey that leads to those moments. Although courses may culminate in public performances, equal importance is placed on the creative process, artistic exploration, and students’ personal growth. Through thoughtful and intentional instruction, teachers cultivate classrooms where students feel safe to take risks, express themselves authentically, and develop confidence in their artistic voice. In Bullis Performing Arts courses, students engage with meaningful content, build technical and collaborative skills, and develop artistic habits of mind that nurture creativity, discipline, and resilience. The department fosters a culture of engagement, joy, and high standards where both excellence and growth are celebrated.
