  • Freeman Community Primary School

  • Salary: £12.85 per hour
  • Hours: 7.92 hrs per week (Monday - Friday, 11.45am – 1.20pm) term time only (38 weeks per year)
  • Contract: Permanent, required from September 2026

Freeman Community Primary School have an opportunity to join the MDSA team to support children at lunchtimes, both in the dining hall and outside.


Your responsibilities

  • Supporting children who are eating their lunch and during their playtime inside or outside
  • Ensuring appropriate pupil behaviour during breaks
  • Safeguarding of the whole school community.

You will need to:

  • be positive, patient, kind and caring
  • be flexible and hardworking
  • be good at building relationships with children
  • have high expectations of children's behaviour
  • have the ability to work with children from different backgrounds and with different needs
  • demonstrate a high regard for safeguarding procedures
  • be calm and confident when dealing with children’s concerns
  • be proactive in engaging children in outdoor activities.

Freeman Community Primary School is a successful, happy, caring community of 197 children in the village of Stowupland, near Stowmarket. We are part of the Children’s Endeavour Trust as one of seven primary schools across the Stowmarket and Ipswich areas. The Children’s Endeavour Trust allows for opportunities to network with colleagues in different schools to support professional development for all staff across the trust.
